Fresh & Coastal Entryway Interior Design Project
This Westlake, Ohio home is a charming, historical Cape Cod style, and our client, a high-level executive, wanted a fresh, welcoming entryway for guests. She also wanted the space to be functional and include plenty of storage for coats, shoes, and everyday essentials to make it more convenient to quickly and easily head out the door.
The smaller foyer didn't have any pre-existing storage or much natural light, but take a look behind the scenes at this Fresh & Coastal Entryway Interior Design Project:
Here's how we transformed this dark and unused foyer to a light, bright and pulled together entryway:
Behind The Design
We meticulously created the floorplan to maximize every inch of the entryway without making the space feel cluttered. A narrow console table helped provide storage and a focal point, while a custom corner niche with a bench and hooks created much needed storage space:
Creating a functional but also welcoming "wow moment" when guests first enter our client's home, we incorporated a whitewashed console table with drawers and thoughtful accessories to tie the space together:
We improved and enhanced lighting by adding a glass table lamp, an eye-catching chandelier, and a large mirror to reflect even more light into the space:
Creating a custom mudroom "niche" out of this corner with hooks, custom millwork, and an upholstered corner bench with a removable basket provided multiple storage options while maximizing this smaller space:
Incorporating elements like natural wood, stone, and greenery to bring the outdoors in and add depth and texture:
Layering in glass accents and patterned furniture and decor pieces added depth and texture:
As part of our full-service design process, we managed all aspects of project management and customer service, which involved purchasing, tracking, and coordinating the delivery of all furnishings and decor. This allowed our executive client to concentrate on her main priorities, such as her family and career, while the project was successfully completed on her behalf.
